Question: How difficult is it to repair a clean break in a guitar neck? (No ... not mine) |

Google 'diy broken neck guitar repair' and you'll get a bunch of links, including a few vids. Sorry I don't know which would apply best to your scenario.
Bob,
That's soooo wrong, 'dude'! |

Location: Milford, MI | I broke the neck/headstock on my first Ovation in the early 80's. Just north of the nut. BIG break but clean.
I took the strings off and used Elmers Wood glue and clamped it for about 3 day's. I sold it, bought it back, and sold it again in a 10 year time frame and the repair was still holding strong.
I'm sure someone on here will have some better options for you but it worked for me. |

I used Elmer's Wood Glue.
I also just glued my Beater 1612 with Tite-bond.
And it seems to be holding.
1121 Break...
1121 After glue...

You will not even dent the cardboard box.
Scary, huh.
BTW-- Fed Ex refused my claim on that one. So I refunded the buyer his money, then glued it back together and sold it for (let me look this up) $145. So basically I bought that guitar twice. Then sold it as a Beater.
So that pic upsets me too!

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | The reason I was asking is because I came across a parlor guitar with a broken neck, which appears to be a clean break. I was wondering, if I were able to get it cheap enough, if it would be an easy fix? If so, I could loan it to a local kid who I would give free guitar lessons. |
