Location: Caribou, ME | I just got in a junker 1111-6. Easy fixes all around. Beautiful neck angle, no top cracks, just a tremendous amount of cosmetic damage. The worst is the lack of tuners.
The serial number tag is gone, no idea why.
I'd like to narrow the date down. Here are a few key points:
1111-6 (white)
Foil label
X-braced
Black neck
I have a 1979 1111-6 that is virtually identical except for the blue paper label. The truss rod cover might be a tiny bit narrower on the older one, I haven't measured.
As stated, the tuners are missing but the footprint indicates it had the run of the mill black plastic bodied Schallers.
I went inside with a mirror and saw nothing as far as numbers or dates.
Given the information, can any of you narrow it down to a date range? Or is there some other little detail that would help?
The foil label is a help, but maybe there were different versions?
