I'm part of a group that is providing back up choral vocals for a tribute band fronting the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in a week-end program dedicated to the music of the Beatles. The program features all of the Sgt. Peppers music plus a variety from the rest of their material. Should be great fun, even if our part is limited to ten songs consisting primarily of many oohs and ahs, and a few pages of Hare Krishnas. I understand its a sell-out, which is almost 3,000, so at least we'll have some of the best seats in the house!

Within You Without You would be very cool to see if they do the whole sitar and tabla thing. Mr. Kite would also be neat with a real calliope sound.

Brad, are they doing solo material too? There were no "Hare Krishnas" in Beatles music that I recall.

My Sweet Lord is on the program and in our scores, so there must be some solo stuff. Johnny, there are never any publicly released videos of these shows that I know of, although videos are made for historical/archival purposes, and the videos or broadcasts are shown live on screens mounted in lobbies and other public areas adjacent to the symphony hall. The only videos I have of our shows are from public television broadcasts during the holidays.

You would think that this kinda cool show would eventually wind up on PBS.....either from the CSO show or from some other city.

This is the stuff that actually gets me to sit through their fund raising telethons.

You can't believe how totally disruptive a broadcast can be to those in attendance at the show, particularly a live television broadcast. Nonetheless, I couldn't agree with you more, Stephen.

Absolutely! In fact, last night I PVR replayed our local PBS Victor Borge telethon. I got to admit that I did FF thru the 'spiels'. But being a 'member', I felt no guilt...
