Ovation CC68 pickup issue

ovationtom77 Posted 2011-05-13 7:16 PM (#1568) Subject: Ovation CC68 pickup issue Joined: May 2011 Posts: 3 Location: Miami, FL I have an old Celebrity CC68 that I use in my cover band. The pickup is passive and is very weak (possibly damaged or broken). I put the volume to 10 and I still struggle to be heard. Can I replace it with an active pickup that will give me a more amplified sound? If so, is there one that would be recommended? Or would just replacing the passive pickup do the trick? I'd appreciate any help - Thanks!
