Well I took my 1868 conversion and my 1537 to the factory yesterday and left them with Kim Keller. But the day before I left, I had an uneasy feeling about my 2001 Collector's. It's had a mustache crack at the bridge for years, but I decided to take it for Kim to look at. He spotted what I had missed; the cracks went all the way through the wood! They were right near a brace, and I had missed them when I looked. He stated point blank that the guitar had to stay as it could give at any time. He would prefer to replace the top, but I can't afford that, so hopefully some skillful glue application will stabilize it for now. SIGH! :(

Now I have three projects brewing in CT, so expect me to be doing some serious horse trading to come up with the funds for all of this. On a lighter note, I let him go over the 87 Collector's I just got and he pronounced it to be a piece of crap in a voice that indicated you don't find one in this good a shape very often.

Don't worry about it. I'd rather have something repared than replaced anyway.

Speaking of 87 Collectors, I noticed somebody posted one on ebay today with a BIN of $1000.

EDIT: I should have read down a couple posts and would have seen that Moody already noticed it.
