Hi, Everyone!
Mike Seguin(Junior Member#449) here again. Now that I have had my "rant" about the contest, I actually do have some questions for the members. Where can I get the treble side only epaulet/extention/matching pickguard for my guitar? I have seen it on the Adamas models, and wondered if it might work on the natural wood top 1990 Elite Deep Bowl Cutaway I have. Does it come in a wood colour that matches my guitar, or just clear plastic? Can I just stick it on, or does it have to be done a retrofit? I think it should be on all the multi-hole guitars, because it looks great, but that is just my opinion. Why has there never been a Legend Multi-hole Series? There was the Legend Elite 12-String in 1985, it's true, but then, nothing after that. Maybe Beal or Alpep can me help out, because it's all a bit of a head-scratcher from where I'm sittin'. Thoughts, opinions, and perhaps, answers...anyone?
God Bless You,
Mike Seguin

Mike - are you talking about the "snot blob" that's visible especially on older Adamas? If so, that's "built in" to the top when the layers are put in the vacuum heat press, and not a surface add-on later.

As far as Legend vs. Elite, the "Legend Elite" was probably marketing spoo. Elites/Adamas use a completely different bracing pattern and style than traditional center hole guitars to take advantage of the very lack of a center hole, and allow more of the top to vibrate. In that sense, a "multi-soundhole (Elite-style)" Legend is an oxymoron. The multi-soundhole design is, in part, what defines an Elite. Likewise, Legends grew from the original Balladeer design, and boast their own specific construction details that distinguish them from other models.

There was a center hole Adamas (carbon fiber top) model - I forget the number - but it was short-lived. Just didn't stack up to the original Adamas design.

A good option mentioned on an earlier post discussed the use of removeable/repositional clear vinyl material that can be cut and installed very easily and economically.

These are the folks whom I got mine from...

I recommend just getting a sheet and cutting it to the size you want.
You can get 2 to 4 pick-guards out of a sheet depending on how big.
(You could contact them to see if you can custom-order Snot-Green)

Hi, Everyone!
Mike Seguin( Junior Member #449) here. Thanks for the information. I did check the link on E-bay. I was actually hoping to find out if there was/is a wooden epaulet/ pickguard/extension to match my Natural Finish Elite , but I guess not. Somebody else on E-bay used to sell the ant-slip rubber pads for the treble side of the bowl back in 2 different colours, and 3 different bowl sizes. I am assuming it was also just a stick-on thing, and I was looking for one of those, too. Are they still around? Has anbody ever got one for their Ovation? Just curious. Thanks again for all the help.

Mike, you don't need to introduce yourself every time, since your name, junior member status and number appear immediately to the left of where you say "Mike Seguin (Junior Member #449) here" and then you repeat it below. Just trying to save you some unnecessary typing.

Yeah... But in about one or six more posts Mike won't be a Junior Member any longer.

So enjoy it while you can! :p
