Hi all,

I bought my Custom Balladeer second-hand, so I don't have the user manual. I've been using lights (force of habit), but want to move up to mediums.

What is the *recommended* string gauge?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Go Mediums.

Once you get "used" to playing 'em, you'll LOVE 'em! . . .

It's a personal choice. I tried going to mediums, but they are just too stiff for how I play. I've settled on 12-54 for most of my acoustics. The dreads get a heavier bottom.

Thanks, both.

This just in from Ovation Customer Service:

We use and recommend D'Addario EXP16 coated light gauge phosphor bronze strings. If the guitar is in good condition, mediums should be fine after an appropriate setup.
