I'm planning a new road route in the USA on July. The map is here .
Last year I made a good trip following some tips of you guys, so I'm asking your help again.

Thank you all, and sorry Serge, but I'll not visit Florida this time.

When will you get to Washington, DC. I live in Maryland, not far. Maybe we could get together.

Miguel, Along Interstate 81 in Virginia, north of Roanoke are Natural Bridge and Luray Caverns. Both worth the stop if you have the time. Google them to see if you would be into it. I'm a mile off I95 in Delaware, pm me if you need to make a pit stop to feed your six string addiction !

About a half hour north of Bowling Green, Kentucky you will be going right by Mammoth Cave National Park.
Well worth at least a few hours.

You'll be running real close to Capo Guy when in TN.

Miguel, you'll love the drive from Knoxville to Washington. It'll be slow....lots of tourists, but very pretty.

Miguel, when you hit NYC you are only 2 1/2 - 3hrs for The Mothership. Might be a consideration. I and I wouldn't doubt PEZ, maybe AlanM, could meet up with you. Let us know!

I'll be driving, so the dates are not precise, but I think I'll be in DC on July, 16th, leaving to NYC on the 17th.

That's in the plans, along with a visit to the Jack Daniels Factory Museum.

Last year I stopped on the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, but couldn't visit the Mammooth Park, due to the need to attend a wedding next day.

I have to agree with Fridave. Natural bridge and Luray Caverns are great. And while you're at Luray, I believe they still give you a free ticket to the antique car museum next door. That is well worth it if you're into old cars at all. AND, the best place to eat in that area is Johnny Appleseed's which is connected to a Ramada(?) Inn right there in Newmarket.

It seems to be easy to stop by and check. I'll plan further so maybe we can have lunch together.

I'm planning to take the train from NYC to New Hartford and spend a day there. Last year PEZ suggested we could have a beer there with people from the MS. We can work this out.

At Interstate 70, take a left and drive west for two or three days. Eventually, you'll come to some nice mountains.

which 2 weeks?

Anyway, if there´s enough beer in Old Hartford, maybe we won't need to go all the way to New Hartford...

As a matter of fact, I´m more interested on the sea beyond these mountains.

From the blue line on the map, it looks like you'll be going pretty close to AlPep and Lost Art Vintage between Washington DC and New York (he's close to Trenton)--if you come through New Jersey over a weekend, I'm sure someone will grab a guitar or two to come and jam with you.....

Miguel - there's quite a few of use here in NJ - maybe we can try and arrange something around the 16th. I'll have to check family schedules and such.

What do you think?

that would be nice. I just have to steer away from Mr. Big. Last year a guitar followed me home from NJ. SWMBO is still wary of that.

If you have time when/if you are in the Knoxville area, you might consider running out to Cades Cove in Townsend, TN. it's about 45 minutes or so outside of Knoxville and easy to find.
It's a 13 mile loop raod in the Smokey Mountains, lots of old cabins, homesteads, animals (deer, turkey, koxes, coyotes, the occassional bear, etc.) beautiful views.
Hell, even the drive through Townsend to get there is beautiful.
There is also Tuckaleechee Caverns in Townsend, really pretty with a big underground lake.
I can tell you how to get there from Knoxville pretty easily.
Capo Guy is also close to Knoxville, between there and Seveirville.
If I was home instead of at this stupid school, I would have loved to have you come stay for a day or so and take you to see the sights.
MAYBE I can get to DC when you are there,it's not too far from where I am in the Virginia Beach area.

Re: JD Distillery: I'll try to visit it while I'm staying in Nashville.

Michael: If you can spare some time I could divert my route to go through Richmond. We could meet there on 7/15, it's closer to Virginia Beach and from there I can go on the next morning to Washington.

Michael & Anita:

Would it be possible for us to meet at the same time? Where?

People from New Jersey:

I'll be there on the 16th, probably. We can think about a meeting, if that's ok to you.

I'm already meeting BT & PEZ at Hartford, CT.

I also need your phone numbers so I can contact you on the road.

I'm in class Monday through Friday but I'll be off Saturday the 17th.
I'm not overly familiar with the State but I can find you if you tell me where you are going to be around Richmond for sure.
I'd leave here that morning and meet you where ever is good for you.
It's a few hours from here to Richmond but I can use my buddies GPS to find you.
When you find out where you might like to meet up, e-mail me at my military e-mail:
michael.rowland.winters@us.army.mil
in addition to trying to "talk" here, that way I won't miss your message.

I'm looking forward to meeting you my friend.
