Location: michigan | I can probably blame DAMON67 for this one.
Ever since he posted "THE GUITAR" video on this website, I have been intrigued by the songwriting of Verlon Thompson (and Guy Clark) checking out the YOUTUBE videos, etc.
I was on vacation with the wife and family last week. As a suprise to me (for my birthday, our anniverary and Fathers Day coming up), she popped for the down payment for a 4 Day workshop with Verlon Thompson at the FUR PEACE RANCH at the end of August. I am pretty psyched about it.
I am wanting to transition from playing lead guitar in a Band setting to a guitar duo (gotta work on the singing, songwriting, etc.) and this looked like a really good experience.
Plus, it forces me to draw a line in the sand, so to speak, and beginning writing, singing and practicing before the 4 day event.
Has anyone here attended the Fur Peace Ranch workshops (or other guitar workshops) and are there any cool experiences you could share.
These things aren't that cheap and want to get the most out of the experience (just turned 50). As Bon Jovi would say "Oh Oh, I'm half way there Oh, Oh, livin on a Prayer" (gotta keep purging the 80's hair metal stuff until August). | |

| Well, I've never attended a Fur Peace Ranch workshop, but I have heard great things about it.
I did attend a Fiddle and Strings workshop for a week. It was $300.00 (a lot of money for me), but it was well worth it.
Think of it this way, the Fur Peace workshop is an investment in YOU and you will take away from the workshop what is most important to you.
Have fun!
