Location: michigan | I spoke with SLIPKID. So far, Slipkid and Brian are in.
Hope to bring back GuitarWannabe, Twistedlim, and hopefully we can get BVINCE to come down from the Caddilac area.
We had a great bitter cold jam at Slipkid's last winter.
Anyone else who wants to come down let us know.
I think we had about 18 ovation/adamas guitars last time.
To get to Harsens Island, you go about 2 minutes past SlipKid's turn-off. There is a car ferry (7 dollars round trip) that runs every 15 minutes. Once you get across to the Island, we are about a 15 minute drive.
I was thinking we could go from about NOON on Sunday, until 5 or 6 (similar to our last get together).
More details, maps, loose agenda, etc. to follow.
Start letting us know via this thread if you think you might make it. Come one, come all.
Harsens Island is a nice escape. |

Harsens Island is a great place to kick back.
It has been called "Little Venice".
Boats, boats, and more boats.
Cool breezes' off the water.
I'm really looking forward to it. |

we can do electric. In fact, I can bring a drummer and bass player if folks want. We can also set up a litle P.A. system. As it gets closer, I'll solicit for some songs so my buddies can prepare a little. Spoke to the neighbors and warned them about the music stuff. Everyone was cool with that. |

Any members from Midland? (aka: Midloanians)
Or Flint?? (aka: Flintstoneions)
And wasn't there a Canuk from London, Ontario lurking about here somewhere? |

At the BHJ, Karen (Jewel's Mom) gave me an Ovation book to traverse da OFC jam circuit. I'd love to have some of ya'll enter your ice-free 'mojo' and then have the envoy enjoy further OFC adventures.

Lookin' forward to it.

Cool. Here are the directions: The more the better.
From Detroit:
Take I-94 East to Port Huron
Get off at Exit 243 (M29 New Baltimore)
Travel about 20 miles on M29.
Look for the Harsen's Island Ferry on right
Take the .3 mile car Ferry ride
When you get off the Ferry turn left. You will bear to the right about 400 feet.
Stay on MI-154 (it will eventually change into South Channel Drive). you will have to bear to the right a couple times. You will travel approx. 6.2 miles from where you got off the ferry.
you will get to a sign that says rough road ahead (you are almost there)
Turn Left on Sax St. (just after Martz)
you will go down a dirt road about 100 ft. We are the second house on the left.
I have a sign in the front yard.
"LAFOND for U of M Board Of Regents
7055 Sax St.
you can also mapquest the address.
7055 Sax St.
Harsen's Island, MI 48028
It is about 20 minutes from SlipKids where we had our bitter cold Jam |

I only missed the acoustic session, the boat ride, the basic bs..ing. But, I had a great dinner and received copy of Rhoadsscholar's book. I now have all the information I need to be a great guitar player :) I was paging through it and it is both touching and informative. Thanks Bob!
As a final note, I can't believe B&B only got $3 when they last went busking. I would have dropped a fiver in the case had I been walking by. |

bob/christine thanks for letting me turn that distortion up and put the volume on the amp up past 3 .
i haven't been able to do that in quite a few years .i always loved playing loud electric .
i still say that we bring out the marshall stacks an we put em on the boat and head out to gull island for a live float band drive thru one of these days and blow out a few eardrums for the boaters there.im sure it would be a hit and if we weren't we could get away fast enough that no one would catch us in that boat . ;) GWB |

I like the idea of hooking up the Marshall stacks to the go fast boat turning it up past 11
I do look intense. B Minor is a very intense chord and I wanted to make sure it rang out properly (or was it an F#, I don't remember). |
