My guess would be an updated iDEA or a different guitar to go with it, hence the recent sale price for the preamp and guitar combo.

You are such a bore. Where is the fun in waiting until something happens before you predict it will happen? I'm just speculating, but Ovation probably started the speculation to get some sort of hype built up. As someone suggested, it better not be a bust like "IT" was with the Segway.

I'm sure whatever they announce Ovation fans will love it and non Ovation fans will not love it, or at least not give a crap.

They would not announce a factory tour on Facebook, unless they wanted 1000 attendees.

My guess would be that they will annouce the launch of a new modernized website. Fender has a great site and obviously knows how to throw money at it. Guilds site was recently redone and is also very nice. Ovation is long past due for the overhaul.

Just my guess.

That's what I thought the instant I read the message as well. "Long past due" is one of the great understatements on this board when referring to the website.

Still, as long as the announcement involves building more O's in New Hartford, I'll be plenty content.

Just so long as I don't have to sign-up at Facebook to learn the results, I'll be happy.

OMA, I don't have a Facebook either. I don't have a cell phone either. I don't even have a TV! And you know what? I never will. Life's too short to waste it talking to people when you're busy doing other things. Life's too short to waste it watching some foolishness on TV. Life's too short to waste it talking to people you've never met on some websi...oh. Never mind.

Never realized or cared that there was an Ovation source on Facebook. From what I have heard from decent sources, Facebook is not where I want to trust my log-in info.

I barely have time to check out the OFC and Takamine forum.

If you want to sell Ovations to young people and not just Old Farts, then you need to be on Facebook. The same people who want you to believe you shouldn't have a Facebook account because of security worries are the same people who bury their money in coffee cans in the back yard.

stonebobbo is correct. Facebook has succeeded in Social Networking where MySpace, Beebo, LinkeIN, Blogster, Friendster, Buzznet, Classmates, MyYearBook, and 100's of others failed list of Social Networking sites .

Their security is actually quite good, but for some reason, people continue to treat their personal information in cyberspace differently than they would in the real world. You would no sooner leave your ID card, family photos AND keys in your unlocked car of a crowded, unattended parking lot... but people do the cyber equivalent all the time.

In the latest incarnation of Facebook, you select who can and cannot see your information which is an option better than most offer.

Referring to Facebook as a "web page," while possibly technically accurate... it is not. Facebook is a tool to access your online social network. You need not use Facebook, there are 100's of other tools to access your online social network. However, I think Facebook is one of the easiest and safest.

Ning, Classmates and others have become ways to segregate our online social networks. As with the Ovation FanClub's Ning site, it's a network of Ovation Fans... but, as example, that is a small part of many peoples online Social Network.

Hmmm an Idea pre-amp with a facebook and youTube interface to immediately update facebook and post audio to YouTube from your guitar :)

If you want to find out what your kids are doing, check Facebook. They won't tell you, but they'll tell the world their daily activities by posting it on Facebook. That way the parents know when the kids will be calling for money.

Does something happening at Ovation have anything to do with Al not answering his phone? (That's kind of like dropping to lines in the water at the same time idn't it? :p )
