Can someone tell me the difference(s) between the Ovation C2079LX-5 Custom Legend and the C779LX Custom Legend?

Is one more desirable than the other?

Please list all pros and cons.

Many thanks!

2079LX is contour bowl the C779LX is standard mid depth bowl.

I like the contour bowl on my 2071LX Balladeer.

My 2 CLs are deep bowls......and older.

I should have said the 2079LX is deep contour bowl.

I would assume that the 2079 will be probably a bit louder and more bassy because of the deeper bowl, that's acoustically.

Plugged in I would think pretty much the same.

I have no direct experience of these models.

I've had all three of the CL bowl depths and to me the deeper bowl the fuller the sound.(Unplugged) ... I like the mid also, but not as much as the deep bowl. If you're going to play plugged in a lot, your electronics can usually make up for the lack of bass in the others, or for that matter, you can shape the sound the way you want it.

Thanks for the info above.

I've been looking at a 779CL and 2079CL at really LOW prices on eBay and wondering if I should pounce. However, I would only be playing these instruments plugged-in, not unplugged.

From the info above, it sounds like my 1990 Model 1869CL will deliver about the same sonic goods plugged-in.

Yep. Now you just need to snag that 2007BCS Collectors that's up for sale in the for sale section, so you'll have one with the Adamas-style epaulets. (:
