2) As you can see, not everubody in the group can be trusted:
3) Finally, I went to New Jersey to visit our friend Al. As you can see, he made me take something along for the trip:

I can think of something to get him in trouble, maybe some kind of minor international incident.
At least get him kicked out of a bar American style, I don't like bouncers!

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | Just got back to the barracks after a wonderfull time spent visiting with Miguel.
What a greqat guy.
Had lunch and a few beers at the Yorktown Pub, shared Po-Leece stories, drove around Ft. Eustis a bit, picked up my guitars and played a bit (I'm painfully reminded once again that my taste in guitars does not come close to equalling my ability to play them and the members of this board that I've been fortunate enough to meet in person can all play me under the table), then went to Bailey's to play a few games of pool and finish off with a good dinner and a few beers.
What a great guy, really made my month! |

Sorry it was only a day. Next time will set aside a whole week to meet Michael. You know, too many war stories to hear...
Will post pics later. |

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | Fort Eustis is kind of boring but it does have a museum (which was closed), a bunch of Aircraft (in hangars, which were closed for the weekend), etc.
But, the Yorktown Pub was open for lunch, beers, & the occassional bikini-clad tourist (awesome Prime Rib Sammiches) and Bailey's at the mall has nice Dinner and beers too.
We made the best of it :)
The Aircraft in the photo is an Older Cobra, a J-model I'm pretty sure) it had one engine, a 7.62 mm six-barreled mini gun, and a 20mm cannon in the front turret, 2 19-shot 2.75" Rocket pods, and 2 4-missle TOW (a Tank-killing wire guided missile still in use today) missle launchers.
The Army replaced it with the AH-64 Apache which I also worked on for a time. |
