Location: Tuscany, Italy | Yesterday I was at my parents house for a small reunion and to get off for few hours from the very hot weather conditions we have these days in Italy
with temperatures near 40°C (104°F) [my parents live in a small country house placed on top of a hill 700m on sea level]. After lunch I was reading a local newspaper and in the pages dedicated to summer entertainments and recreations, I noticed (among others) that kaki King was waited for some concerts in Italy before moving to Israel.
Told to my wife "WOW ... Kaki is coming to Marina di Pisa tomorrow for a beach concert" ... "it's only 90km (56 miles) from home.....we should go".
Ok, fast forward, 6h30pm we were back home and just by chance I checked Kaki website to discover that the concert was on SUNDAY and not monday as I
initially tought. Immediately I phoned my father and he confirmed that what
I read was the saturday newspaper !!!! AAHHHRRG.
Immediate action required..... we looked each other; the clock says 7h30pm. "It's not too late" we though. "The concert starts at 10pm so we are
still in time to get there....".
In less 10 minutes we were heading to Marina di Pisa, a nice place to spend the evening.
Kaki started at 10h30pm and was absolutely amazing. The place was not so big but full of young people drinking beer and listening to her great perfomance. Her Adamas was perfect. The weather was perfect too with a fresh breeze from the sea carrying Kaki sound and moods.
2h30 pm we got home. Tired but happy for the nice evening spent in company of Kaki music.
Kudos to Kaki King.

Location: atlanta | Riccardo, thanks for that fine review, and I feel sure she appreciated you and your wife attending the show. She loves touring in your beautiful country and has many fans in Northern Italy, especially Milan. Your photos are most excellent as well; I like the "slideshow" feature.
Thanks for noting that she is appearing in Israel on Friday--her first performance there. Yesterday's Jerusalem Post ran this pre-concert review:

I wonder if there any OFC'ers living in Israel? After all, we many international members worldwide.
Thanks again for making the effort to be there, and for your fine review.

My pleasure to report about Kaki concert here !!
There was a lot of people there and we arrived at the place few minutes before the event started.
You know, all wanted a pic with kaki !!!
We just did few shots before the concert, and my wife got a nice Kaki autograph on an Ovation bookmark while I was "working" on the camera :)
Thanks for the link ! |
