In all of the 50,000+ times that strings have been discussed here, I have never heard anybody mention La Bella.
they're one of the oldest US brands and I really like their tape wound jazz strings (14-67 set) and their classical strings are very good and their flamenco strings are really good. They make strings for just about every instrument under the sun.
I would have thought at least one of you old timers was still using them for something or other - even if only cutting the cheese....

the tape winding gives the cheese a funny taste.

67!! Wow...that's a set of strings that might be nice tuned down to D or so, which I do a lot. I set a capo on the 2nd fret to get to normal tuning, but sometimes they just feel a little too loose, especially without the capo.

Tried their silk steels on my 12. They are OK. The B's and the G high octive where a little skimpy. (.012 and .009) but otherwise they are nice. The low E is .051 which is a bit nicer than what comes on the Martins but I prefer the 11.5s, 14's and 10 that come on the Martins.

Fair enough.
I just think it's weird that a company that old has no fans here whenever strings get mentioned.
Somebody must be keeping them in business.

I don't know if I'd call myself a fan, but I've tried them and thought they were pretty good strings.

Maybe they do a big business with "other" string instruments.....violins, cellos, etc.
