I snagged some Gold tuners awhile back...
I wasn't sure what I was gonna do with them, but I would think of something.
Today I was changing strings on my 6778LX-NEB and said to myself...
"Self! Silver tuners look crappy with New England Burst, gold would be better!"
Anyway, these say 'Ovation' on the back.
The previous ones had an Ovation logo on the back.
Which are better? Or does it matter, different manufacture, what?

Compare what I am talking about...

[I neglected to take 'before' pics]

And this is before and after pics... You can see why I swapped them.

So, anyway... Are one kind of tuners actually consider better?
I might add that the new tuners seem to work just fine in the 6778LX.

It's hard to tell from the photos but they both appear to be the same Ping tuners (are they the same thickness?) just one has the logo and the other says "ovation" on them. I swapped out a set just like that (with the name on it) from a newer Ovation and replaced them with Grover Rotomatics. You probably have the same tuners just one set is newer than the other. Oh BTW I'm a big fan of gold tuners....Great swap, the guitar looks waaaay nicer!

I'm also a great fan of gold tuners, I've swapped on all my guitars, only the VXT has still the chrome machines, but with ebony buttons.
I think both are made by Schaller and both are the same inside.
