All the archived stuff is there, why not all of these as well?
Just a thought. |

Yah, it might even prevent more closed threads (as if)!
Maybe charge a Paypal fee to look at them? |

Just a thought. Something to consider when the new software is in place. At this point, not safe for the infrastructure, and in fact there have been very few incidents requiring it.
It has been proven that positive reinforcement prevails over enabling bad behavior. |

Instead of shutting down excellent, informative and entertaining threads because some members start throwing their pacifiers at each other, (btw, we call them dummies down here) why not just delete the offending posts and let the thread carry on.
I don't understand the moderators' stance in never deleting threads. If it offends, bin it! Much of the recent and middle distance upheavals could've been avoided, or damage limited, if the offending threads were just deleted.
Maybe I should start a shit-fight with someone on the IPQ and get that shut down. I'd probably get a vacation, but it would oh so be worth it. |

It's very simple really. We just don't have the time. We get enough crap for closing threads, playing favorites, etc etc etc.. You want to throw censorship on top of that. And G-d forbid something that "should be deleted" doesn't.
Short of a few instances... the current system works very well thank you. Better than most. |

The idea of self-policing is not a bad one. My neighbor is doing it. He has a ton of weeds in his lawn and he's banking on the fact that the good grass will take over and kill them off. Personally I would just yank the damn things and throw them in the bin.
But you know what? IT AIN'T MY LAWN !!! |

If we were smart, we would all grow attractive weeds and spray our lawns with grass killer. And men would be attracted to fat, ugly, sex-hating women. God, what an easy life that would be. |

A Stepford lawn, or forum. Maybe a bit boring but certainly no trouble. |

But you know what? IT AIN'T MY LAWN !!! I love this analogy. In my world as I have way more important things to do than babysit dirt, I just wait until the weeds are big enough to be truly annoying. Then I rip them out by the root, put them in a pile, pour on gasoline and burn'em.
problem solved until the next batch of crab grass and prickers take hold. |

(But in the town it was well known when they got home at night their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their lives.) |

Truth be told, I have nothing to do with my lawn except to pay the guy that takes care of it. It's those pesky weeds elsewhere that eventually just have to be dealt with. |

I am overdue for pics of the 2010 Collector, but it looks just like the other 49. I guess I'll have to save the guitar pics for Sunday night, but then you critics would just tell me to prune the bushes. |

Location: Campbell River, British Columbia | Secret #1 NEVER water. It's supPOSED to die off in August. My lawn is extremely healthy with few weeds, even though the neighbour is thick with them....and my soil is very poor though I've built it up a little over time with compost and clippings.
Never use herbicides & pesticides. Everyone can play barefoot in My yard. Commercial farms MAY need to use pest & herbicides to remain solvent and produce things that appeal to the modern consumer, but your vanity lawn has no such commercial need.
There's honour in going brown!

Yes, I'm sure that's the way to go...put them right where everyone can find them when they have nothing to do...Hmmm, yes, I'm sure that's right...wait, I know: lets just bring back all the former contributors under some sort of program and restore all of their privileges... yes, I'm sure that's the right thing to do...and how about letting the Taylor group post freely and discuss how much they hate all things Ovation...we could give them special privilege such as free posting of items for sale and promise never to return them to their former sites...Yes, I'm sure that's the right thing to do....
Or not! |
