For me..
"Goin' Mobile" is 80% there.
I had "Come Together" 70% done till that damn Jukebox Joe guy went and posted his lesson. Now it's back down to 20%.
Took a swing at "Should I Stay or Should I Go"
then decided it was not ready and put it back in the crock pot for more cooking.
"City of New Orleans"... I don't think there have been more vivid, lyrical images written about America. Right up there with "This Land Is Your Land".
"I've Just Seen a Face"... Had it all worked out to the point where it just needed multiple plays to polish it up. Now for some reason it's been put back on the shelf. I hate when that happens.
"The Letter" .... but only of we can turn it on it's ear a bit.
"Pure & Easy"... a bouncey, busy little number with chord changes that are not intuitive. This one will take a hundred plays. |

Location: Newington, CT | Hmmmmmmm...great question! I've long been fascinated by complex guitar harmonies -- like with a bunch o'guitarists playing together. Since I don't have a bunch o'guitarists who play like I do, I'm stuck with myself and layering with Audacity.
So, in answer: trying to use one guitar and some inexpensive recording equipment to make it sound as though four, five or six guitars are playing together. Trying to put together original compositions that would test that idea.
Been noodling with that for a while, and have posted several misses on the ning site, that started out in the right direction, but ended up becoming solo jam sessions, with more of a "free-for-all" feel to them. Don't get me wrong -- those are a lot of fun to do, and I like them, but I'm trying to add more discipline and structure to what I do. |

| "The Happy Birthday Song" for our daughter - 3 today.
For real, Chain Lightning (Steely Dan), trying to work up an arrangement I can play live with the looper so I can play leads over it. Light touch on the Vocalist Live (3rd and 5th above) makes it sound good. |

Ridin' With Private Malone ~ David Ball
The Greatest ~ Kenny Rogers
Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico ~ Johnny Rodriguez (sang it Friday night and it went well!)
I've been playing around with transposing songs in different keys (C#, D#, etc.) trying to get out of my comfort zone of playing just cowboy chords or using a capo. |

| Right now, I'm working on "The Last Supper" and "Everything's Alright" from "Jesus Christ Superstar". Eventually I want to learn all the guitar parts to all the songs from that musical. May take me a year, but I'm gonna do it.
Just saw "A Song's Best Friend -- John Denver Remembered" on PBS (again). I'll probably pick up one of his songs (again).
I also want to learn "Turn, Turn, Turn" and "Bad Moon Rising".
I think I'm in kind of a rut though. I seem to be stuck in the past!

"She Talks To Angels" is pretty new ain't it? (only 20 years old?)
You have to re-tune to play it, but the folks at the MAX train station liked it yesterday. |

Maybe not directly but when I hear that Bobbo is working on Lay Lady Lay I know I want to learn a Dylan song. Same with Bad Moon Rising.
I'm also reminded of the diversity we have here. I'm just a guy who works on songs. Guys like Styll work on music. |
