The one time I ever played on the street was with a friend of mine playing flute while I played guitar and we did Jethro Tull stuff. Made about $30 or more in 15 minutes and then went to the nearest bar. We were about 19 or 20 at the time, both looked badly in need of a job and didn't have fancy expensive instruments so all that probably helped. We were playing in an area of storefronts that were one level below the sidewalk kinda like an amphitheater and it was Friday night - I couldn't believe the paper money that came floating down..lol

Right in the middle of downtown Toronto - hundreds of people walking by coming and going from bars and such during the summer. Shoulda done it more often - we could have worked up a half hour set easily and added a bit more flash to it but we just did it for a laugh and to get beer money.

I don't think your looks will ever be good enough to make money from them, even in a black dress with high heels and pearls, but if you think so, go for it! :D
Maybe next year we can manage to travel together and make proper use of my charming accent to make a lot of money busking around.
