My brain just locked. I couldn't figure out which of his hands to watch more closely. What a talent!

gimmicky

Kim Keller could play that without the fancy tuners!

"gimmicky"

Yeah, it was kinda neat. But six minutes is about all I could handle.

Agreed. While listening, I thought, "I couldn't sit through a whole album!". Very creative, though...

Now THAT was cool...I'd love to try one of those; I'm gonna watch that one a whole bunch, because that's a real box stretcher.
It reminds of the first time I ever heard Abraham Laboriel play--my mind couldn't get itself around what my ears were hearing. This is another one of those kinds of things...like the difference between the Hudson River school of painting and the Impressionists.
Thanks for posting it--I'm not much of a bass player (and maybe never will be), but it was neat to hear all the different possibilities.

Thanks for that post G8r, nice find!

Michael Manring is an extremely gifted musician. He played bass on most of Michael Hedges recordings (among many others.) I've seen him play live a couple of times…

…no bass-player jokes in this case, he's the real deal!
