I was just in a GC in Pittsburg (I collect their store picks when I travel) and I asked if they ever had any Adamas guitars. The salesman said Fender stopped all Adamas production 2 or 3 years ago. He sounded very convincing, is that true? I guess I haven't been paying close attention.

Did you miss something? You sure did . . . an opportunity to tell that salesman at GC how clueless he is about what is or isn't happening in the Adamas corner at the factory. Have you seen how many new Adamas models are currently listed for retail on eBay? The factory has obviously been very busy for the past year or two.

I'm kinda surprised that you found one that actually KNEW what an Adamas was. I had to take my Ute down to my local GC to show them 'cause they hadd no idea Ovation had a Cadillac line but once they plugged it in they knew what one was. They put it up against a Taylor (414?) and, according to the manager, the Ute "ate the Taylor for lunch".
They're not going to soon forget it either. I've been in several times since and now it's a story that apparently been passed down to the newbie sales guys 'cause they all stop and ask when it's coming back in.

I would have called him out on this but he said it with such conviction that I thought it might be true.
There is an undefined distinction between someone being mistaken and lying. I used to have a man that worked for me that would tell me stuff with such great conviction and seemingly knowledgeable on the topic and circumstances surrounding the topic that I would assume he knew what he was talking about. Only to find out the real story was 180 degrees out of phase. We had to have a discussion on this.
