Does anyone have one of these? Despite living near San Francisco, not a single store has one in stock and therefore it's impossible to "try before I buy".

Please list pros and cons.

Thanks,

I have a 2077LX that is one of my favorite guitars of all time. Not real bass-y, but the trebles and mids sound like crystal bells. If you fingerpick you will love it.

6L6 - So you know, Alison's 2077LX is basically the same guitar without the 'bling'.

If you need bassier, try the Al DiMeola Custom Legend 1769-ADII

I have lots of Os and the Al DiMeola is my go to for giggin'. It's very warm and has well rounded on tones (and has A-bracing liked the Legends of old)

Thanks for the info above. Does the Al DiMeola CL have a rounded back or is it contoured to help keep it from rolling off your lap?

For me, the problem with the roundback was that I was hugging the guitar tightly with my right elbow. As soon as I learned not to do that, the regular round bowls stopped being a problem.

IMHO, I would select the guitar based on sound and feel rather than if the bowl is round.

(Though I do love and prefer the contour for feel and for the added depth to the bass).
