Location: San Francisco, CA | For all of you OFC members who showed up to play at Cameron's O/M in Half Moon Bay, CA last night, it was a pleasure to meet you! And thanks for letting me try out one of the "1 of 12" OFC Ltd guitars. Truly a stunning instrument!
Loved your playing/singing too. Only thing that would have made it a better evening would have been if the Giants had won the ballgame. But they'll take care of that issue tomorrow!
Cheers,
Bill |

Location: Utah | Love those motorcades! George's motorcade was leaving the airport at the same time I had to get to work. The exit from the beltway onto I-80 was blocked by the Highway Patrol, so I went to the next exit and made a quick U-turn from the exit ramp back to the on ramp, inadvertently bypassing the police roadblocks at the traffic light. As I was driving the mile back to the I-80 interchange I realized that I was the only vehicle on the beltway or I-80!
That made up for the time Bill's motorcade repositioned across a major airport (without Bill, so the airport was open). Tower called a go-around as we were on short final, telling us that the motorcade was not talking to anybody in the tower. |

Bill always used Moffett Field when he was in town looking for money. Atherton (where Obama was speaking) is only 10 minutes from Moffett Field.
Why he didn't use that base instead of SFO is something I can't explain. Not only is it MUCH closer to where he was going, the security is far better too. Lots of guys with machine guns already there!

6 He wasn't at SFO. He was on 92 east of 280 heading towards 101. I don't know where he was coming from, nor do I give an aeronautical intercourse. |

Good time at Cameron's. But it probably have been run a little better. Spozed to start at 8 and didn't because of the aeronautical intercoursing baseball game, and then dragged on till after midnight.
But it was fun playing there. |

Location: San Francisco, CA | Beal: The guy who normally runs the O/M (Auri)was not there this week. He works at the Giants stadium and he was up there for the playoff Game.
Cameron's O/M has always been run as follows since it started up 15 years ago:
* The first 5 positions are "first come, first served". Once you sign the sheet, you have to remain at Cameron's or forfeit your slot. This keeps folks from coming in at 1:00PM, signing up, and then not returning until their playing time. It also helps insure people will buy their dinners and drinks at the establishment hosting the O/M.
* Positions 6 thru whatever are based on the order of phone calls Auri receives starting at noon on the day of the O/M.
* It's always been 3 songs or 15 minutes, whichever comes first. And sometimes the O/M will go on until 2AM! Auri will never shut it down until everyone's had their chance to play.
* I normally setup the PA/ mics, etc, when I arrive around 5PM. I'm retired, have the time, and am more than happy to help out Auri who's having a really rough go with cancer and heavy duty chemo treatments. This week the owner asked me not to set up until the game was over because the mic stands block some of the TV screens. That added to the late start.
Again, sure enjoyed having all of you OFC'ers come by and hope you will make it a habit in the future!

Thank YOU for the hospitality, 6. |

6L6, I realize I'm a guest and it's somebody else's sandbox, no problem with that.
It's just been my experience that when they run that late they loose a lot. By the time all the "regulars" finished and the "Out of Towners" came up the only people left in the place were the out of towners +1. We could have stayed at Bobbo's and played for that crowd, which we did the next two nights.
Still a good time and I wouldn't have missed it for a ride in the Fergle parade. |

I love a parade. But the open mic was special enough to pass on a ride in the long -5 limousine. |

Well, am I the oldest member of the OFC?
hwebster: Look forward to seeing you there! Be aware that with the World Series on Thursday night, the same situation as last week will prevail. It'll be a late start and run late. |

not the vol was fine guitar EQ was off and vocal had a strange slap back echo that annoyed me |

Location: Scotland | I'd used that guitar just before Al, and EQ'd it for playing fingerstyle backup with Crosby, so it was way too middly for strumming. I should have warned you about that, but if a halfway reasonable engineer had been paying attention it could have been fixed at the board.
That said, the guy running the board was not the regular guy and admitted that he didn't really know what he was doing. The slapback thing improved when I changed the FX program to a plate setting |

That explains it… I assumed that the odd sound was just due to the video recorder. It's sure a poor representation of the sound of that guitar. Despite the technical problems, your voice is perfect for that song, Al, and I reiterate; Nice Job! |

You can blame ME for that! I went second in the rotation and I always like some slapback echo on my vocals. I guess Boyd (the substitute Host) never turned it off.
Cameron's again TONIGHT!!! But only after the Game is over.

There is just something about his timing, phrasing, and feeling in his playing that just speaks to me.... |
