Location: Michigan | Anyone here using these? As I've posted elsewhere, I am getting back into playing again and have discovered effects pedals. I'm having a blast. Am using a Fulltone OCD on songs like Santana's Black Magic Woman, a Line 6 Tap Tremelo on Santo and Johnny's Sleep Walk and a Line 6 DL4 on Boogie Woogie. My Legend's full round tone is transformed into nearly any sound I want - Rock, Surf, Rockabilly - its great.
I also picked up a TC Electronics Polychromatic tuner and it is very easy to use. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | My signal chain looks like this . . .
Takamine Acoustic DI+ [Digital tuner ➔ JangleBox ➔ Chorus ➔ Reverb ➔ Keeley Blues Driver (all within the Tak FX loop)] ➔ Dunlop Wah 535Q ➔ Trace Elliot SMX Comp ➔ Mesa V-Twin ➔ Zoom A2.1u
A number of us use a pedal board regularly, and we all constantly search for that next perfect pedal that will complete the signal chain. For most acoustic applications, I use a number of customized presets on the Zoom, occasionally with added compression from the SMX and the Blues Driver. For pure electric, I use the FX chained within the Tak loop. The V-Twin is for power leads and is totally wicked. The wah is there when I need it. I run the guitar directly into the Tak DI+ because I want to retain the capability to send phantom power back to the CT2 preamp (a really cool feature on the Tak DI+) in some acoustic guitars, and to do this, I have to use a three-way cable direct. If I'm doing a solo gig, I'll add a looper at the end of the chain. The board is really heavy, so I may eventually order a custom ATA case with wheels. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I used a simple setup when I was touring: O a/e's into Mutron Vol/Wah into Boss CE-2 into MXR Flanger into PA...I used a Korg tuner offline and got lots of complements about my sound...I tried other pedals (I now have a slightly different chain including the Keeley Blues Driver and Morley Vol/Wah/Dist, Boss CE-20 and Boss RC-20XL looper) but always stuck with this simple setup...I have used rackmount effects but again, my setup worked for me... |

Location: Texas | Do you guys build your own pedal boards or buy them? Any recommendations either way?
I have a Roadrunner soft-sided board/bag that is pretty handy for a few simple on/off type pedals, but it feels awkward with any kind of expression pedal… it's just not a solid enough surface. |

Location: Michigan | What are you using for vocals? Micing into the amp? Separate PA? I used to prefer my vocal via the reverb channel on my amp. Recently I acquired (free) a pair of EV Sentry 100A Studio Monitor speakers and a 40 watt PA amp to drive them and was thinking of picking up a reverb pedal to add to this set up. Any thoughts? |

Location: Utah | I have a Pedal Train board. Very sturdy metal construction. There's room underneath for a power supply.
My signal chain is generally Digitech Hardwire tuner > Aphex Punch Factory optical compressor > Digitech Hardwire Stereo Chorus > Boss RC-20XL Looper (my daughter uses the looper) > Morley Volume pedal.
This rig serves the acoustics as well as the electrics. I would like to add the Digitech Hardwire stereo reverb pedal but cannot justify the expense, as this is a hobby and not an income producing activity. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | Signal Chain as follows for both acoustic and electric (of course some I don't use depending):
Planet Waves Stomp Tuner > Boss AW-3 auto wah > MXR Super Comp > Tube Screamer Clone > ProCo You Dirty Rat fuzzy distortion > Univibe Clone > DD-3 > Splitter to either Alesis Multi Mix and out to PA or to Yamaha JX30 (which recently has been emiting a sort of clicking sound with the bass notes. I think the speaker is dying and will need to be replaced. Oh well after 35 years the poor guy is old. I'll play him till he's totally kaput) ) |
