Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I posted the weights of all my guitars within the past year. A VXT and mumerous acoustic O's were included. I have the list of weights at the office and can provide you with more precise data tomorrow, but my estimate is that the VXT is about two pounds heavier. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | My VXT is a custom Koa topped model, and I changed out the knobs to some heavier metal types so it may carry a slightly different weight than a standard model. Nonetheless, it weighs 7.6 pounds. My Ovations weigh anywhere from 5.2 pounds (1547 SSB prototype) to 6.4 pounds (Legend Ltd with heavy neck). The Adamas models are slightly lighter. My custom 1187 SSB weighs 4.9 pounds and the OFC-1 model is an even 5.0 pounds. My guess is that an older Custom Legend will come in over six pounds just like the Legend Ltd, but newer models with a lighter neck will weigh in the mid-five pound range. |

Location: Nahant, MA | Thanks for the info! Could be asking for trouble on this forum but I've also been looking at the Ibanez Montage and Babicz Octane for hybrids (the T5 is waaay outta my price range). Any opinions on those, or has anybody on this board turned their O into a hybrid? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I think the VXTs were discontinued. Shame because they were way better than the T5s and much cheaper.
I had a Hamer Duotone and sold it, figuring I'd get a VXT if I ever needed a hybrid. So far, I haven't seen the need, but there are VXTs out there new for really low prices. If the prices get much lower, I may decide I "need" one.
If you think you need a hybrid, get a VXT. There's no sense trying to turn an O into a hybrid, when the VXTs are out there. Frankly, when I start playing on stage, learn to play some great licks and need to switch back and forth from an acoustic song to an electric lead, I'll need a VXT. I don't think I have enough lifetime. |

I had one.
Bought it new.
Sent it back for repairs, and it still sucked.
Sold it, Lost about $150 on that experiment.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | The lightest guitar I own is the Hamer Improv, en electric archtop, at 4.8 pounds. The closest electric to it is a '66 Harmony Bobkat Deluxe at an even 6 pounds, which has a noticeably smaller body configuration than the other solid-bodied electrics. The remaining electrics fall within the 7 to 8 pound range, with a few over 9 pounds. The heaviest is the ash Viper 3 at 9.8 pounds. |

Location: NH | I had a Montage. The electric pickup was in the middle between the neck and bridge. Couldn't play fingerstyle at all because my fingers kept hitting on the pickup.
