Nicely done!!! Hope that joint is strong enough.

I never realized the fingerboard was as thick as it is. Or maybe I just never thought about it.

I won't trust a butt joint like that so I plan to rout or (somehow) cut out some of the maple center strips and 'key in' a new strip, which will strengthen it a lot. If I were a lot more talented I would have removed the fingerboard and cut both pieces at an angle, much like the typical grafted headstock found nowadays... but I just ain't that good.

very cool...you don't have an extra left "ear" hanging around, do you? My Van Gogh is missing one.
