Sitting at my desk laughing out loud...now it's dying down to an occasional snicker or two....... My blue-eyed carpenter would have put a few well-placed screws in some carefully chosen wood scraps and made something far more durable than that. Then he would have found some carpet scraps to pad the bottom and back, and hammered a few decorative things in the forge so it would look custom. (Sigh.)

I bought an unassembled futon one year and that's pretty much what it looked like when I finished with it, sans the mattress. I tossed it in the fireplace a month later.

If they've sold more than 2 of those things I would be shocked. Then the buyers should be slapped silly. Wait, I've got a waterfront lot they might be interested in first.
