Location: Bluffton, SC | Huttlinger is a great player but maybe even a better teacher. I've got a couple of his dvd's and they're great. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Loved his comment about feeling the groove. We can memorize chords and notes all day, but it doesn’t really become music until we create a groove we really feel and that becomes our own. It would be a real treat to take a workshop with him. I may need to pick up a few of his DVDs. Any recommendations? |

I was just thinking I need to get his "Wonderful World of Chords" dvd, since I spend so little time memorizing chords.
He also has a fingerstyle dvd that has some very good practice lessons.
His first Denver and Croce dvds have the most popular songs on them. He does a really good job of explaining and showing what he's doing. I guess I have 5 or 6 of his dvds. Maybe I should spend more time learning from them.
Oh, he also does private concerts. I found out he was out in Boise a few years ago, but never tracked down who brought him out. Same with Craig Caruthers. If there's enough OFCers in your town, check into bringing him out. |

Very entertaining and an excellent teacher.
I picked up his DVD "A Guitarist's Guide To Better Practicing" while I was at the clinic. It looked really good. I should probably open it up and start to actually watch it and start to use it. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I tend to skim through the dvds like I channel surf TV, but I have spent quite a bit of time with one of them. His tabs that come with them are also very good and he explains why he uses unusual fingering.
I just read on his website that he has a heart defect and had some pacemaker problems recently. A week later he has a stroke. All my guitar idols are dying. You better watch it, OFCers. |

Actually, thanks. Hopefully some people will learn a few old songs they forgot about. But I want to watch more Huttlinger...those are REAL instructional videos from a REAL player. |
