Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I have got LOTS to be thankful for these days!... I almost lost my mother to a skull fracture and infection (meningitis) AND a heart attack. About thirty days ago she was dying, and as of yesterday she has been moved to a local physical rehab facility, and I will be able to check her out for the day to spend Thanksgiving with the whole family. This was an absolute miracle! |

Location: Caribou, ME | No celebration dinner at my house I'm afraid. My wife had a PET/CT scan done on Tuesday and it confirmed she has Stage IV lung cancer and it has spread to the lymph nodes and a few other spots; neck, pelvis, etc. She sleeps most of the time and I do the housework and try to keep up with stuff. I still tinker on guitars but it's scaled back a lot. I need to keep my mind occupied but at the same time I don't want to take on any outside projects or anything that will take me away from the house.
If tomorrow's a better day we'll have a nice ham dinner or somthing. If not, then maybe Saturday.
Not trying to be a buzz kill, not looking for sympathy. We do what we need to do and just plow on. In fact I hope all of you are thankful all the more for what you have after reading paragraph #1. |

Chicago Deep Dish Pizza does not make you tired either!
Happy Thanksgiving To All :)
An unexpected last minute change of plans found us at our house. We had six deep dish pizzas overnight'd. Sure, we have all the other requisite Thanksgiving stuff... it's just that the main course is going to be my favorite.
Lady Noah and I have a lot to be thankful for here in California this day. I had my 6-month post-op workup and I'm cancer-free so far.
ksdaddy, hang in there. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Well last week I got the news that as of the 1st of the year, I will be laid off, and then the next day my car died (engine seized). Maybe I'm in shock, or it hasn't hit me yet.. but for some reason I'm still feeling thankful and glad to be around.
Hope everyone is doing well and safely recovering from their Turkey Day. |
