Location: Sunshine State, Australia | I'm not taking my '05 to Samoa on my next contract as there have been a few too many break and enters in the last 2 months.
So I'm taking my beater (which plays and sounds MUCH better than it should) for my regular Friday night acoustic jam. (Which is no longer 'acoustic'..)
So, what's the preferred pickup options from the brains trust? I'd like something with onboard volume control. EQ not necessary - maybe just a tone knob.
Preferrably something I could install permanently, not one of those soundhole jobbys.
The saddle on this particular guitar sits in a steel bridge which is suspended in the timber bridge held by 2 adjusting screws. It's like a hybrid acoustic/solid body bridge.
Only ever seen one other guitar with this setup. (Ozwatto) Piss easy to adjust action, but not sure how it will cope with an under saddle pickup. |

Location: NJ | K & K is one of the best but if it is a beater just get a soundhole pickup

If I find it and you'll use it, you can have it for nix. I used it for years on my legend (the salesman talked me out of a 1717). |

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | Hey Richard. I'll have it if you can find it. Don't think I want to spend my Christmas break installing a new bridge.
Get it in the post ASAP, I'm leaving on the 21st Jan. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | get a different wood box. I don't think the K&K would work that well if the saddle isn't in hard contact with the top. An adjustable usually never is. |

Location: Michigan | Those sound hole jobbies can sound pretty spectacular...Lyle Lovett uses a Sunrise and it is the best sounding guitar I have heard on Elvis Costelo's show...
I would not hesitate to get a Sunrise if I needed a soundhole pickup.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8qQncDY9P4 or something like this http://fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=46 would work without modifying the bridge |
