Since we're all in the holiday spirit, SWMBO asked me to play some songs for our Christmas party last week, so I came up with four. I was fooling around with the high strung guitar and I thought they all sounded better using it. The 4 were...
The Christmas Song
Silver Bells
Bells Were Ringing
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Anyway, I recorded this with my Zoom Q3, with the video camera pointed at a giant shirt (hehe). The Nashville tuning sometimes sounds like more than one guitar.

I really like it. I hope you post The Christmas Song soon. That's always been one of my favorites.

I had a guitar in here once that had Nashville tuning and I played with it for a while. It was fun. Maybe I'll have to try it again.

That was really nice, the high strung works perfectly for that.
I'm really disappointed though, no Christmas shirt......

This will be one of my favorites, guess it´s the nicest Christmas song I ever heard... Sounds like Irish music... Simply wonderful! Thanks a lot.

Great stuff coming here from Dark Bar (and everyone else in the other threads too).

So...

"high strung"? What's the tuning?

Tried to find the chords, but what I found didn´t seem to match the ones you are playing... What I found is: Em - C - B7, Em - C - B7, Am - G - Em D, Chorus: G - B7 - Em - D, G - B7 - Em...
Don´t know whether its just my ears... But if you wouldn´t mind, could you share your chords? If you don´t like to, I´d understand, but you´d make me very happy...

Thanks all.
You won't find tabs 'cos I made up the arrangement.
Guitar is in standard tuning, don't remember what fret the capo was on.
Starts in Am...pretty much a bass walk down.

002210, 302010,200230,100030
God rest ye merry gentle men let

x33210, 022100
nothing you dismay (repeat)

xx0231, xx0221, xx0211, 022100
to save us all from satans power

002210, 302010, 200230, 100030
when we were gone astray oh

002210, 302010, 200230, 100030
tidings of com fort

x33210, x55430
joy, comfort and joy

002013, 022100 002210
oh, tidings of comfort and joy

I still hear this wonderful song once or twice a day... I think your voice, though unique, is close to Cat Stevens´, and this meant as a compliment :)

Regards, Chris.
