It's amazing how fast and completely the music changed that decade...from the Ventures 1960 to Led Zeppelin 1969

Looking at the list I wonder how many learned House as their first "guitar" tune. I know of the 25 it's the first one I learned.

A few of these have their roots in surf music. Gotta love it. I think I may have learned Apache or Misirlou first. The first version of the Ventures' Walk Don't Run came out in 1964, but I preferred the second version in 1965. I still have the original sheet music for it hanging in the band room.

I learned how to play off of the "Learn to Play with the Ventures" albums. Vol 2 first then Vol 1. First song I learned was "Let's Go", I think. then "Pipeline"

House of the Rising Sun was the first "real" tune for me too. I don't really count On Top of Old Smokey and Three Blind Mice. :)

BMW by Santana released in 1970. Reached #4. No doubt, one of my favorite all time classics.

Black Magic Woman was the very first guitar lead I ever tried to learn. Some of you folks are old!
