Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Got back last night from a two day trip to the Vanderbilt Voice Center @ Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville...I called James ( james37214) up and we met for a fantastic dinner at Demos': we had a great time! He had helped me find out about the '78 1688-8 which I got last year and it was good to put a face on a member whom I had not met in person. We walked around downtown Nashville (which had been my home for several years back in the early '90s) before he had to get back home to the family and I went back to the hotel to see Va. Tech fall on their faces...We plan to hook up again with the families next time if possible since I will be going back and forth for several months. Yesterday morning, I visited Gruhn Guitars before going to the clinic...some very cool instruments hanging on the walls of the store: here are some pic's:
Gruhn Guitars
Any opportunity to get together with a fellow OFC'er should not be missed...James, thanks for a great time and we'll get together again soon! |

Location: Indiana | cholloway, the TGIF on Elliston Place is no longer there. I played many years at the Tony Romas across the street (no longer there either)... next door to the infamous Exit/In. Met my wife there and many life long friends. Kathy Mattea waited tables at TGIF back then... many moons have passed.
Mike, I've PM'd you my number. Hopefully we can get together for lunch or a cup of coffee on one of your trips. Swap some old KeyMan stories. It would be great to meet you face to face. |

Location: nashville | Mike,
Looking forward to you next trip. Thanks again for dinner. Maybe next time I can get a guitar lesson as an appetizer. I bought by Martin from the the guy setting at the desk in the 2nd photo his name is Keith. Gruhn is no place for the bottom feeders. I was playing w/ the houses money when I bought my Martin there,(insurance money from a break in) but the saying around here is "If you want a screwin' go to Gruhn" But they have a great inventory, and Walter will sign you Ovation book, Great place to compair and contarast models. A MUST place for anybody who ownes a stringed instrument and the Ryman right up the block. |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | Man, Capo Guy, that is one scary picture--all those twangy, skinheaded, 5-stringed things hanging behind you! I thought 2 or 3 congregated in the same place was a lot...ye dawgies!
(But the blue-eyed carpenter would have loved to have seen the place!)

I knew someone would make a banjo reference...the temptation was too great...
Hope you are doing well; HNY! |

Location: East Tennessee | Karen, Sorry for the bad camera angle. 90 degrees to the left would have shown several more McPherson's and a wall of vintage Martins. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Mike, since I was pressed for time, I didn't get the wall w/the high end Boutique guitars like McPherson, Stromberg, Santa Cruz, Breedlove (they have a wonderful custom in a glass display), Gallagher, Bourgeois, Wayne Henderson, etc.
Too much to look at on a tight schedule. I'll get more when I go back in March. |

Gruhn's can be overwhelming ... even before you head upstairs. But still a nice place to visit. |
