I'm a bit excited about my two latest projects.

A widened Adamas-Elite...

A Semi-Hollow Bredwinner...

More in my Ning Albums.

Enjoy

Ohhhh Woody I would love to have the Semi Hollow Bredwinner, But no one wants to pay when I try and pimp myself out. I went bankrupt. That is going to be an awesome guitar. Can't wait to see the finish version. :) :) :) :)

I was looking at the 'Dread-Not Adams' pic's on ning last night. How about a few words on that project, MW.

On the Breadwinner: Are those Artech pickups? I've had problems with high/low 'E' string drop-out with those versions. If so, it might be a good idea to check before installing them.

Bru,
Generally the Artec have been good to me. These are the same size as a set of Viper pups which I might end up installing anyway.

Jon/Moody,

I ended up with that Adamas I neck that had the last few frets broken off and a big ding that I fixed. While I was building my Kayak with Glass and Epoxy I cut/split and mended this Fiberglass Ovation bowl.
Then fast forward to a Sitka Spruce top with Quintad-like bracing and some 3M Marine adhesive...
Still don't know about the sound hole(s).

Open to ideas!

Would a sound hole that looks like the Ovation logo be stupid or Use the center hole as the O and then in small letters at the bottom of the O ad the rest of the word

Ovation but use small letters. Just a thought

Heresy? Probably not. We are fanatics, and possibly dogmatic, but will not excommunicate any of The Faithful for creativity.
Those are very worthy projects. Any refinements in the protocol discovered, in duplicating the pebbled bowl texture?

Sound holes for the Dread? How's about the very old-fashioned F-style openings, a la the Proto that will eventually find its' way home to France? And...since the Dread's a bigger body, those openings seem to have worked out well over the centuries for violas and cellos.
Beautiful work, as usual, Woodrow.....

See's,
I will try to make the Dread a shiny bowl although that's a lot of work.

I'm thing single Bass epi ir Blow hole like the KoaLAV's.

Probably no holes on the Breadwinner, just lightness...

Nice. I used a piece of that same red cedar on te C2C4. Soft-as-hell, but sure rings out.
Are you using an Adamas bracing pattern in the Dred-Not?

Yes, but without any of that scientic research and weighing involved. The lattitude brace is probably heavy but the width is greater too.

Just have to string it up and see. The access hole should allow for brace shaving.

Sorry, forgot the verbiage. This is the bracing I am using in the mandocello project.
And, a picture of the glued, all-wood binding:

So I guess this is what happens when there's no Lifeguard at the Gene Pool...

You end up with a Semi-Hollowbody Breadwinner VXT.

Very light. Still in the adjusting phase but at least it hasn't imploded yet.
