I think the foil went away in the mid to late '70s. But lets wait for Moody to chime in. He knows everything.
.
I always thought the foil labels were very classy and looked good against the stark, black backround of the bowl. |

Actually, it was a couple of years before that. I've got a Legend that was originally built in '78. It had a cloth bowl, standard truss rod and the blue and white label. |

Location: Scotland | A couple of years before when? I didn't specify a date, just a bunch of design features that were happening around the time the foil labels disappeared. The real date would be exactly when they ran out of them, and the blue labels would have been designed and ready to go before then, so trying to pinpoint it is pointless and probably impossible. |

You're right in that they probably used the foil labels until they were gone and dating the change is impossible. |

Any other questions we can screw up? |

Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh) | I've two gutars from 1978: #137555 1624-4 Country- Artist w/ blue-white label and #131389 1615-4 Pacemaker w/ foil label.
The time sheet says #126001-157000 is Apr.-Dec. 1978
So I think they changed in May or June 1978.
