But T is right (god, that hurt to say that), Gallerinski is but a memory. |

I know Dave... and Dave is not the kind of man to go against the rules. |

Based on the clever (but cryptic) posts above, I'm guessing that the new ID has something to do with a "Pantry" or "Packing?" |

AlanM... The members mentioned hold a wealth of knowledge and advice that has been freely given, again and again over the years.
This board is a lesser place without them. |

The OFC is the font of knowledge for all things 'O' and we are FORTUNATE to have it.
I for one, am thankful to all the senior members (with a special nod to Dave...) for all the great advice and Yoda-like guidance they provide!! |

Location: Tennessee | I heard a rumor from someone who heard from someone else that he was kicked off the board because people here complained that he posted to that 5005 thread using more than one name. The ironic part was that the complainers were people who are using multiple identities, who had previously been kicked off for bad behavior, or so I heard. Maybe he just left because of the hypocritical bullshit. |

all 3 of his entities are valid.
but we seem to get pressure from certain elements that complain about multiple id's and yet they themselves have multiple ids even when they are banned.
dave was never and will never be banned as long as I have something to do with this message board.
IMHO miles reacted to the multiple ids and dave took it in the wrong way....
come back Shane (dave) we miss you |

Although their posts can still be read via the Archives. Good thing, too, since that's some of the most useful information and banter on this site. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | There's not just Ovation knowledge here, although that is the primary focus.
Although I post way too much for knowing so little, this board has been my source of information related to music for the last 6 years. I came here because of questions about Ovations on ebay, in particular an old shiney bowl. That was back when we could see who was bidding on them and there was someone named Standing Ovation. I contacted him and googled the name and found a ton of Ovation info.
But I've also learned a bunch about other guitars, music theory, banjo jokes, other musical instruments as diverse as cajons, (which led me to build one), amps and effects, guitar restoration and repair, humidity (and occasionally humility), and a host of musicians that I had never heard of or had forgotten. Because of this board, I have been to concerts by Adrian Legg (twice), Preston Reed, Craig Carothers, Richard Thompson, Jake Shimibukaro, and others that I heard of through the OFC.
Most importantly to me, this board renewed my dormant interest in music, to the point where I finally signed up for lessons for the first time in my life and have been asked to play and sing at nursing homes (except the director wanted a set list and I had to tell her I've never played a set in my life). That's all apart from the good friends I've met and still hope to meet. Dave is one of those.
I know I should get a life, but the OFC has become a big part of it and it's one of the good parts. |

| No worries, Brad. The actual posts are still there and can be gotten by searching the Archives by display name. It's too bad, though, that Standing Ovation and Tupperware's names were deleted from the directory - there was a nice symmetry there with 3 consecutive 5005 post counts (never mind what the "Interests" columns for those 3 entries used to say together). |

This board is a lesser place without them. Whooooaaaa! Hold on thar, Baba Louie!
I was referring only to the posts on THIS particular thread! Recall: I asked if anyone had seen Gallerinski, and there was a bunch of lively banter around that question, but not a lot of information regarding the actual whereabouts of Gallerinski. That's all.
I was NOT referring to the overall content of this forum, with IS full of highly useful information.
I hope that clears THAT up. |

Knowing how concerned he is about everyone's sensibilities, and being able to relate to the ridicule faced by persons of his ancestry, I'm sure he just doesn't want to risk offending anyone.
I'll try to shut up now, too, even though I despise the concept of political correctness. |
