This might be a symptom of GMS too...

I just installed an Artec CLE preamp and pickup into my Beater 1114.

Notice that it is located where I would have to cut if I decided to install an OP-Something in there.
I didn't feel like cutting a big hole to install a VIP or Pro... at this time.
This only took five holes in the bowl, and one for the pickup, and I could do more later.

So... The question is:
"Is it Blasphemy to install a non-Ovation preamp into a 35 year-old Folklore?" :p

Don't look too bad. I'd try to find some lower profile knobs tho..

What about this guitar causes you to consider it a beater?

That speaks to my planned role for this guitar.
I has some structural and cosmetic flaws which allowed me the freedom to modify.
I have another Folklore that I had considered electrifying... But only for a moment.
But since this one has already had a Rough Life...

I plan on taking it outside in inclement weather.
(Much like it's brother, the Beater 1612.)

Even with a Elmer's Glue'd neck and screws in the bridge, this sounds great.

I love the wider neck on the Folklore, but the other one could not be heard over Traffic without some kind of amplification. Now that I have this, it can join the others in the street corner serenade.

Nice work, OMA. Now, there appears to be THREE of us going to Luthier's Hell. Welcome, Bro!
