I'd be VERY reticent about taking them up to ConcertPitch . . .

Bridge cables! These strings should have a warning on the package not to tune them to standard pitch.

Nice set for a baritone or "D" scale.

I don't know but I may try...last string order, company screwed up and I was sent two sets of D'Addario EJ18's .014-.059 Heavy. Suppose I should send back but not worth the effort.

Might be interesting...think I would only try 440 with an Adamas or Ovation neck.

They'd be great for DADGAD.

I usually use EJ18's on the AdamasLongNeck, but currently, I'm playing around with Matty's BridgeMix . . .

I've been wondering about using heavys for my LX as it's tuned down a half step all the time, and half the time tuned in a double drop d (like what cliff said above, but still tuned half step down).

I allways have gauge 13 -57 on my 1537 , the factory told me that it would not be a problem , but look at the differnce of Torque , sets in between , from D`s site :

Ej 16 - total torque - 168.3 lbs.

EJ 17 - - 182,5 lbs

EJ 18 - - 214 lbs.

All when tuned to concert -pitch.

Let us know how it goes :)

They should be fine. To be safe you probably want to put them down to D. Not to mention they'll be easier on your fingers at D.

I use 20 20 28 40 49 60 on an old '72 Legend, tuned to open Emajor. The only reason I did this was because it needed a neck reset and I needed a slide guitar. Hasn't moved in over 8 years.

Yeah, but the action is 1/2" at the 12th fret. :D ;)

I string one of my new 2078Ts with the 11-13-22-32-47-58 set made for the "Crafty" or New Standard Tuning (CGDAEG). Tension is not a problem, but intonation is on the sixth string at and above the 7th fret. I'm going to work on the string height issues at the nut and saddle and then see if I need to increase string length at the saddle as well.

I have to ask - why would anyone want to use 14-59s?

I was curious only because my last string order included two sets by mistake.

From a respected source concerning 440, neck could handle it, not sure of bridge...so, that settles that.

So, will probably use for my modified Custom Legend 1669 SLIDE guitar...

Obviously, you haven't heard a LongNeck tuned B2B . .

It's just something . . . "different" . . .

For me bigger cables mean more " power " , strong groundtone / less overtones , depending on guitar , for ex., my 1537 is allways strung with Thom.Spectrum 13 -57 ,with it`s smallish box , I doubt that Thom.Plectrum 13 - 61 !! will add any bass , yet , the 1617 does best with gauge 12 -54 , and the 1618 ( 12 stringer ) just " sings " with 10 -47 , this is all very subjective / controversial..

Read em all, or read none at all. Either way it just makes it all more confusing to the clueless who can't afford a clue.
