Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that my daughter Kaki would have been part of the one of top grossing shows in the world, but she was:

Dave, that's fantastic! She is quite a musician, and deserves all the success she is enjoying!

I have to thank you for a little moment I had a few weeks ago. I was driving in my car when one of my daughters popped the soundtrack to August Rush into the CD player. I hadn't seen the movie, but immediately recognized Kaki's distinctive sound.

Me: "Do you know who that is?"

Rebecca: "Yeah, its that kid from the movie."

Me: "No way. That's Kaki King. I'd recognize her playing anywhere. Her dad posts from time to time on some of the guitar boards I hang out on."

At which point, for just a moment, my daughter though I was ever so slightly less completely lame than normal.

So thanks for that!

That's awesome, Dave. Congrats to Kaki. Seemed like just yesterday she was opening at the Fillmore ... at a lot less than $2.7M show ... :)

Thanks for the kind words everybody. Here's a pre-show photo from Melbourne that I thought interesting. It appears to be Dave Grohl conducting an impromptu drum lesson for Kaki and the rest of the band:

I would've put the photo in this thread but I've forgotten how.

Best--

Or a knitting lesson? Maybe it's Kaki giving the drum stick twirling lesson.
