Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | James (james37214) and Jonmark (jonmark stone) are on the way to the hotel for a mini OFC get together and guitar jam ("pull" in Nashville)...Jonmark and his lovely wife went out to dinner with our family last night and we had a great time. Demos' is one of the top restaurants in the city and we left full and happy.
Took the family to a drive around tour of Music Row this afternoon and it's hard to believe how much it's frown in 21 years.
As for guitars, I have the OFC II; James is bringing a 12 string, and I believe Jonmark is bringing his Elite...This is doing the Nashville experience right...
I'm having surgery in the early AM at Vandy...hopefully this will fix my vocal cord problem...in any event, it's great to have friends stop by to pic with and wish me well. We'll take pictures which I'll post when I get back home... |

We had a small gathering at CasaBobbo on Sunday with a trio of OFC'rs. But we don't call it a "pull" in the San Francisco area ... that would be something completely different. |

Location: Indiana | Really enjoyed the visit with Mike. What a great family. We both married way over our heads. And a treat to get to play the OFC II.
Hoping for the best tomorrow. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | We just got back home from Vanderbilt in Nashville about 45 minutes ago...I am quite sore so I am going to bed. The operation yesterday took 5 hours and I was awake for it all...I don't think I have ever held still that long in my life; but it was a complete success. The Doctors have told me that after maybe a week of pain from swelling, I will have my voice back and should also be able to sing. I went for over 5 months earlier last year with no voice at all, and now 4 more months of waiting for the injections that partially restored my voice to dissipate so the operation would have a chance at success. After speaking with the surgeons I feel this has truly been a miracle: the right upper laryngeal nerve was so badly damaged it would never have healed on it's own. I am so thankful for the modern medical technology and the people who dedicate their lives so others can be well. I am taking a Doctors ordered three weeks off to rest and recuperate. it has been a very long year! I will be back in the pulpit on the 3rd of April. We have some other news but I'll wait until next week to announce it. Thanks for the prayers and the good thoughts. We are blessed!
Love,
Mike and family |
