Larry Coryell and Al DiMeola play "Spain." Larry's is a SUPER Shallow bowl. When you see it from the angle that shows the bowl, it looks REALLY shallow.

A couple more O's are just hanging around in the background as well. Just an OvationFest with a couple of wonderful guitarists.

It's here .

A bit later in the same video, it becomes apparent that Larry's playing an '85 Collectors'. The camera focuses in on the neck a couple times.

Always nice to see Ovations played on stage.
But how old is that clip... 20 years?

I appreciate the talent, but any more that 5 minutes makes my teeth hurt. Especially when they go into warp speed.

Definitely an older clip. Larry looks a LOT younger.

One thing I found interesting was, when they were playing fast, they were using different techniques to pick. Larry would either lock his forearm or pivot at the wrist in order to make his picking keep pace with his fingering.

Somewhere else on YouTube, Al Dimeola says that the proper way to do it is to pivot at the wrist only. That dismayed me because I lock the ol' forearm when picking and playing fast.

And, I'm pretty sure I saw Al break his own rule and lock his forearm while doing one of his fast runs.

It was nice to see a couple of spectacular guitarists like Larry and Al doing it the same way as I do!

'Course, Larry 'n Al are a tad better'n I am (sigh)...

Colin Moulding plays an 'O' in this live performance of XTCs Scarecrow People.
