My C2078 is a wonderful guitar but I have an issue. The textured bowl snags the material on my shirts, and has actually ruined a very nice shirt of mine which was a real pisser.
So now I'm soured by this guitar and rarely play it.
I've never had this issue before and I've had bowls from the 60's all the way to the last production runs from New Hartford.
Has anyone else experienced this? Why is it like this, did they change something up or did they just forget some finishing work? Do they typically sand or smooth out the backs usually?
And the biggest question, how do I smooth these rough edges? I'm almost ready to send to the factory saying it's a defect/poor workmanship.

No I haven't actually but 1200 is very very fine.
What is used on car duco before it is finally buffed.
Probably even a non metal pot scourer would do the trick.
Or as Paul suggests.....maybe get a canvas shirt....speed up the process!! ;)

I don't have a mean streak....I just know that OMA has a thick skin and can take a jab. (he never should have posted a vid of playing Hotel California shirtless. God knows I shouldn't have posted my video playing wearing a teddy)

Same problem: a nice cotton/poly sweater pilling like crazy. I had to use an electric shaver to clean it up.
My -08 C779 was the culprit.
No issues with the other models.
The 1200 grit sounds like the ticket.
