Maybe a dumb question from a newbie ,
on a 1994 1581 11 what shuts the battery off or do I have to pull it out every time it is idle?

I do not know what kind of preamp you have in your Adamas....
But it should go off when the jack is removed.

(Although I do have a VIP-5 that will eat batteries while sitting on the shelf)

Thanks OMA:
Its a OP 24 active equalization system
3 band graphic EQ
1 volume knob
Green push button light to test batt, and give level of volume control in dark conditions.

It should be fine even with the cord in, but it's best to unplug it. Batteries last for years in my OP 24s, but I don't plug them in much.
