As many of you know my UKII went to see Mother because I managed to crack the headstock at the neck. It was traumatic for me being that I bought it new 30 years ago. As far as possessions go, it has more sentimental value than any other, even the Mosrite.

They did a bang up job! Was it not for a very faint hint that you can only see under microscopic conditions (or a close-up macro shot like below), you'd never know.

They even filled a nick (3rd pic) I had on the neck, and refinished the whole thing.

John said that he had them refinish it twice just because he wanted it perfect. I think they accomplished the goal. The burst looks just like it did before.

I also think it was a nice touch putting a brand shiny new brass nut on there.

Thanks guys!

Beautiful instrument!

Congratulations to all the guys at Ovation - both for the original design and the restoration.

Looks good to go for at least another 30 years.

Beautiful job, and beautiful instrument. Almost makes you momentarily pause before picking it up and shredding it like you can do!

You'd have to know and really look hard to find that repair. Great work by the wizards, as always, and a happy ending.
