| People are telling me thats wrong and they have got no idea where I got the information from, well excuse me, it only comes from the actual book that comes with the guitar if you bother to read it. |

| Since you insist on starting many, many threads on the same thing - just to try to sell your guitar - I'll just copy/paste my answer:
Hard to know to which of your multiple for sale posts scattered all over the forum (spam, anyone?) one should respond.
You should know this Beal character is the one who signed your friggin' guitar. Now if you want to keep arguing with the person who ran the company for over 20 years, and whose dad founded the company, please do so and show yourself for a fool.
Oh, and coming onto a fan forum for the sole purpose of accessing a target audience to sell your guitar, and then spamming with multiple posts in violation of Forum rules and arguing belligerently with Forum members who know a helluva lot more about the brand and its history than you do, isn't going to make you a sale. Just sayin'. |

Every other piece of company literature states the correct dimension, and a set of digital calipers confirms it. The book is wrong. It happens. Have the good grace to accept that there are people here who know a lot more about these instruments than you do right now. |

| I'm telling you that if people did not post false things about the guitar I wouldn't have to keep trying to post, do you understand???? Someone says "Oh thats wrong" etc. I need to make sure that people who might have seen that and think I'm selling a piece of rubbish see the amened facts. I ONLY KNOW WHAT THEIR OWN BOOK SAYS, IF OVATION MADE A MISTAKE THATS NOT MY FAULT. And do you run this forum????????????????????????????????????????????? |

As a musician yourself, you should understand we make up quite a broad-minded, diverse group of eccentric, fun-loving individuals. Yes, there are still those who take some things too seriously, and no one here is "all knowing"(although "beal" is probably the most knowledgeable of the brand), but please don't take any of it to heart. I appreciate your participation on the board as much as anyone else. |

Location: closely held secret | From what I've read, you're the only one posting "false things" about this guitar. You've been corrected by one of the most knowledgeable people on the planet concerning Ovations, as well as the guy who was in charge when your guitar was made (and as G8r so eloquently put it, "the one who signed your friggin' guitar".
The book is WRONG. Put on your big boy pants and accept it and move on.
Keep it up and you will most likely find out who DOES run this forum... |

| I posted the facts that I had from what the guitar says inside and the date it was bought, I'm sorry if Ovation made the mistakes. The facts are that it IS a wide neck, and it says 1687 inside. I only stated what is in the book, how am I to know its wrong.
What I have been reading is people telling mt its NOT a wide neck, that its 982 so not worth much. Can't people understand that if there are people putting this sort of thing around that it looks like I am selling rubbish.
I only know what the guitar says, and what I read, if its wrong how do I know?
I came on here for two things, to help sell the guitar, and to get some information. Right from the start there have been problems with being told the address of the computer is in America which caused us problems here thinking we were being hacked into etc. The people calling me a twat because I posted photos in the general and not in the for sale section.
I was posting the photos in relation to the information about the guitar, I posted the photos for selling in the for sale section aswell for selling. |

necks were 1 11/16 and 1 7/8
The book is wrong, still cool to have it though.
1687 were narrow and 1689 were wide
Yours looks like a wide neck judging from the picture, yes I have a little experience in looking at these (but that was long ago before I became aquainted and tainted by all these usual suspects, but I digress.....)
Yes yours is a narrow neck lable but looks like a wide neck on it.
So the neck may have been changed after the fact.
A. If it was originally sold in Europe it could have been changed by one of the distributors, wide necks were much more popular in Europe, partly due to Marcel Dadi
B. It could have been the wrong lable.
You could always take the neck off and see if there are signs of a narrower one underneath.
Or you can pick a or b and just stick with that as the story.
It looks like a very clean guitar.
As to the dates of mfg you can find that here in the details section but I'm sure you've been given the correct dates by Mike.
Is thwat everything???
Now back to the hurling of insults and discussion on proper techniques for filming performances by DarkBar and the proper use of gold in stage outfits by Weaser. Sir Templenam will be acting as judge with a jury of Slipkid, G8R and or course that waskelly wabbit, and sleuthing done by our own private eye. |

UK, you have either a mis-labeled or mismatched guitar. Does it matter? No. It isn't a fake, it is a peculiar circumstance. The only thing that is standing in the way of you selling it is $$$ and distance. I am not sure of anyone that wouldn't want to have that guitar around...everyone knows what it is that has the wherewithal to purchase it.
It would probably behoove you not to come on a board with so much girth in expertise, ask a question and then argue with the folks that have taken the time to explain what you have and why it exists. It makes you look a little foolish and moreover, it is disrespectful. Take the information and say thank you. Good luck with your sale. It is a beautiful guitar. |

I'm trying to change the cutter on the weedeater from the blade to the string. I'm looking for the wrench, can't find it, probably in Florida like everything else I can't find.
No problem, I'll got to the tool box and get something else. Ah a socket wrench! perfect!
Now I need a socket the right size, let me see....let's try 9/16. Way too small, OK 5/8...WRONG!!! You guessed it, 11/16 perfect.
Now back to cutting weeds..... |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | You have a weedeater that takes SAE? I didn't think they existed. In fact, I didn't think there was anything built anywhere that doesn't take metric, except maybe an American car, to the extent there is one, but who actually works on those anymore? |

Now back to cutting weeds..... Incorrect, my good man. THAT weedeater was made in 2003, which would need a 21/32" socket. I don't care WHAT the damn book says! |

Funny how he can spell THAT word correctly... Hey db.... pound sand.
Moody is the only one here authorized to be the spelling police.
.
If you really want the job then get all over Beal for leaving the "I" out of Michigan.
Go ahead ... get on him ... I'll wait.
.
Don't mean to throw you under the bus here Beal.
Just need to make a point. |

What I hate about weed eaters is getting the line just about wound on and having it spring unwound just as I'm ready to reconnect the line drum (and the double line ones are even more diabolical)...got to hate that... |

My back got tired so I quit early.
Can't do the whole job today, then there's nothing to do tomorrow and the day after.
Besides, I don't want a sore back at teh gig tonight(as if it really matters but it's fun to pretend)
Brad, Michigan has an i in it??
Anyhow, now off to cut the grass, a 10 minute job. |
