Anyone into a NW OFC get together? I'm offering to host this one. Aside from the spacious floorplan upstairs, monster deck with Seattle skyline and water views, and of course the Weber grill (excellent heat distribution!), I've put together what I feel a worthy place for us to congregate and jam...
OK, so the last pic wasn't my place, but I can dream!
Aside from my typical Labor Day at the Gorge weekend, I'm open to all dates for now.
Anyone?.... Bueller? |

Yes, that's the UKII that Mother fixed for me. It's not all the guitars, but it's all that's gonna fit in there.
And seesquare, yes to all. Sara will be here playing Hostess, and as for things to do, I'm exactly one half block from the intersection of Bellevue Way and Main St. Yes, that close to all of the shopping/restaurants/museum/parks etc.
Something for all.
The main floor has a 25'x25' westerly facing deck with partial Seattle Skyline and Lake Washington view, and it also is leakproof underneath where the music room is, so we have a 25'x25' umbrella so to speak if needed.
It's a good place for a gathering. I thought that immediately when we first had a look at it.
I'll do more pics in a bit. |

The wine's still in cases. There's a perfect space for a 50ish bottle wine cooler in the kitchen. I've been looking for a deal on one.
THe basement keeps it relatively well though. |

So, Mike, are you volunteering to do a "build", and need parts?
Or, you have a critter to donate, and our affluent membership needs to purchase tickets? |

Bad news... I'm unemployed again.
Good news... I'll be attending (well I think it's good news.. others may not)..
I will be bringing some goodies and some guitars that WILL BE FOR SALE !!!!! (or trade) and of course stuff just to play on.
I will update my inventory and post in case someone is interested in something particular.
I am interested in the following...
- Sunburst Viper (no mods)
- Preacher Deluxe
- Deacon
- Eclipse
- Fender Stratocaster
I really don't know what I will be bringing, but it seems life has veared more toward boats and actually PLAYING my guitars instead of just collecting them. I'll still be keeping the few special "keepsakes" but many others will be fair game and at you-shoulda-been-there prices.
This is all assuming Damon approves.

We'll have a few of my local musician friends over for those that want to jam some....
Max Campbell, master of the twirly sticks has volunteered to sit in on the skins for us, and Lino Alimboyao will have his Ernie Ball Stingray to throw some bottom end in it. Chasen Chantz will be there with his Red Flamed O (Hmmm I wonder who he got that from), as well as J, my guitar playing counterpart in "Hand Shaved Noodles" (who plays a 2778LX, again I wonder who he got it from?). Todd Shannon, the Keyboard King, is tentative, but there will be another 1 or 2 there with some keyboard skills. We'll have some other non OFC member Ovation owners there as well. This weekend I'm throwing a birthday bash for Derek "Buddha" Olds. He should be at the gathering as well with his 5 string AND his acoustic O (OK, this one was acquired from Alpep). |

Saturday's the day to be here if you're only going to be around for the day, but if you're here Friday eve, or still around Sunday, Casa D's is open for business. There's lots of things to do within 15 minutes of here in a car, not to mention within walking distance of the house there are restaraunts, museums, shops, etc (including a Nordstrom's AND a Neiman Marcus so beware guys) should SWMBO feel the need to get away from us hooligans. |

About 55 inches in that antiquated system that you share with Great Britain and few other intellectual backwaters..... ;-p
Interestingly, 80% of our rain falls at night.
More interesting, we have four real season. You can tell one from the other.
(Unlike, say, Yellowknife where the have 8 months of winter and 4 months of bad sledding....) |

That was before the Holiday Inn started charging $95 for a room and a separate charge for parking!
A couple years ago we were getting almost as many people moving here from Seattle as we were from California. That stopped because we don't have any jobs. |

520 will be closed next weekend. I-405 is always the best if you're coming north or south, but for anyone coming from Seattle, be sure to use I-90.
Also, there's an Art event going on in the botanical gardens that weekend, so if spouses get bored or want to wander off, it might give them something to do for a bit if they like, or even on Sunday.

Shoot me an address, Damon. Thanks! |

As for what time to be there, I think Noon is a good time for folks to start showing. I know people will be filtering in all afternoon at different times.
For those who haven't already, please do let me know if you plan on attending, either on here or shoot me a PM. |

I'm excited about seeing you all.... and even MORE excited about some of the guitars I hear will be making their way. OK, that might have come out wrong. Let's just say I'm excited.
We're just about ready for this thing. All in all there will be a couple dozen folks from my calculations. Should be BIG fun for all.
If you haven't pinged me yet for an address, please email or PM me ASAP. I'd hate to have to say....

But it's a good thing fillhixx won't be there ... he might have taken home a memory of doing something promiscuously stupid. Something about banging a screen door ... |

Looks like there is some type of parking area, to the West, or Northeast. |

The good news is all the folks here are used to people parking on the street.there's plenty of street parking as long as it's not a Friday night during football season. (Bellevue High is around the corner). It's not a well travelled street either, and very safe.I can have 4-6 cars in our lot too. |

Being as there will about 50 or 60 or more there already.
I got about 12-16 hours to contemplate this dilemma. |

I'll probably just bring the C2C4, since it is the craziest thing, guitar-wise, I own.
See ya'll 'bout High Noon!
Avoid the 520, from what I've heard. |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Early report on the festivities, since I had to depart before the debauchery REALLY got going.
There was much deliberation & conjecture on the project guitar, without resolution. A minor repair to some fretboard binding, a diagnosis & proposed treatment, with 2nd opinion, on a top separation on a CC-057 (I think).
All the while, Damon & assorted accompaniment were wailing out (the neighbors departed & left their driveway to us, too!)
Lots of burgers, dogs, and "grease for the wheels of progress". A really wonderful con queso dip with other munchies & fruit.
Weather was one of those perfect Seattle days, clear sky, no wind, 75 degrees.
No injuries, by the time of my departure, anyway. Doors intact, no bathroom fiascoes, one minor BBQ incident with a hot spatula observed.
More than enough guitars, but that was the point!
Damon & Sarah are the consummate hosts, and very courageous to conduct the event. Many thanks!
I might have some decent photos. If so, I'll get them posted.
As for the attendance, I will likely leave someone out, so I will allow The Membership to post their own experiences.
It was great to see many of the Left Coast Contingent, and we may have effected some converts, too.
Missed the raffle, durnit.
Party On, OFC! |

I had too much fun to actually take pictures but here's my limited efforts:
PNW OFC 2011
Art - glad you made it home! I enjoyed the tour of downtown Tacoma at 1am as we discovered that you, me and my Tom Tom didn't know they moved the Bus and Train stations! Really enjoyed time spent with my buds!
Steve/Numbfingers - you are a shrewd and generous parts trader!
We did come up with a configuration for the two potential guitars to be used as OFC Fundraisers.
A hollow body Viper
A solid body Viper. |

Thanks again to Damon (from here on out pronounced Da'Man) and Sarah for sharing their home.
Music was made, food was eaten, beverages were consumed, music was made (worth mentioning twice) guitars and parts were sold and traded, and goodies were distributed.
Another successful gathering thanks to everyone who attended. |
