Location: Columbus Ohio | I went to Rock on the Range this past weekend- there was little acoustic stuff- so it got me thinking-
Who is your Fav Ovation player?
Mine would be Robert Smith of the Cure (great band)- who played a Legend 1756 if i'm not mistaken- for a while in the 80's- early 90's (why switch, robert, why?)... even his the Just Like Heaven video

As for a TRUE O player/endorser, I'd hafta pick Al DiMeola |

"My Goal's Beyond" is an all-time favorite (unplugged) Ovation masterpiece. Check it out!
Also "Friday Night In San Francisco" has John M on nylon O with Al Di Meola, as always, playing his custom Legend. |

Known more for his songwriting than his guitar playing. On the 2008 UK tour he's playing Takamine.

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Gracie Rooks. She's one of my students, who looks and sounds like she was born with a guitar in her hands. She is also a fantastic songwriter. She is only twelve years old, but I sure wish I had written some of those songs. You will all hear her someday. There's no doubt in my mind that this girl will go far. |

| Like I always say, Joey Eppard. He's amazing. I've never heard anyone play quite like him. His solo stuff is at www.myspace.com/joeyeppard and his band is www.myspace.com/3 . Check out the song "Bramfatura" if you want to see just how crazy talented this guy is. |

| It would have to be Di Meola. Tho I always loved the sound Metheny got out of a good old standard Ovation Classical live on stage. |

Location: Chicago | Thanks to you WBM I now have. Warmest thanks! I have had to make do with the few early scraps like the YouTube BBC spot that has "Lotus on Irish Streams" or the John/Larry studio duet of "Lotus Feet"; But a solo spot from My Goals. WOW! |

Location: Issaquah, WA | You know, this thread may not be the place to post this, but somewhere in one of these discussions I read where somebody got interested in Ovations years ago when they saw the outline of a guitar that David Cassidy was holding...
Last weekend I was in an antique mall, and noticed a Life magazine cover, David Cassidy, holding....(drum roll, please)....an Ovation guitar!
October 29, 1971.

Location: Sydney, Australia | I was watching Simon & Garfunkel's concert in central park on TV when it first aired here (not long after the actual concert). I asked my friends what sort of guitar Paul Simon was playing and they said an ovation. I said that if I ever learned guitar, that was the type of guitar I'd get. My friends said "bull*&%$" and the rest, as they say, is history. |
