I have been a fan of Steve Martin since I can remember and it's pretty common knowledge I guess now that all he ever wanted to do was play the Banjo and be known as a Banjo player. Comedy was a way to get gigs on a consistent basis, playing the banjo. I used to think that was just a schtick, but as years went by, I'm thinking he really really likes the Banjo.
I must admit, I got a little sentimental seeing this accomplished star have a childhood dream unfold in front me on the TV along with millions of other people.
Whatever the back story, to write a song about Paul Revere's horse and perform it on the Capital lawn for a few millions folks is pretty cool. |

The band, The Lost Canyon Rangers are from Brevard NC and are great on their own as well.
Together, they are the real deal. |

Then I heard him say pretty much the same thing in his comedy routine. ("Hey, I said that first!")
I didn't watch "A Capital Fourth" because I don't do TV, but I did hear it on the radio. I wonder if the British killed the horse, or if he found a new home in England. |
