Is the Adamas top a birch or poplar sandwich? I've always though it was birch, but I've read poplar in a couple places too

Several places, but now I'm seeing a trend. It seems the "W" series Adamases have poplar

Hi,

Both were used.
First page is excerpted from the 1978 Adamas booklet and the second from a 2003 catalog.

No wonder I never knew about poplar. It was used in a guitar that I never had any interest in.....

Up here in Michigan we have a lot of Birch and Poplar. It is my understanding that the two trees are of the same family and their wood is not very different. Some of us like to burn it (:

I think poplar is better for burning.

This thread got me thinking. I really like my
2080.

What wood/sandwich technique is used on the 2080 top. Curious more than anything else. Don't recall seeing it discussed but maybe there was an ad when they first put out the 2080.

Anyone that can help, greatly appreciated. :D
