Location: Greenville, Texas | Howdy, I've been doing some research on this guitar, it's how I found the OFC, I found a posting or article stating these guitars were made in USA to be sold in Japan, only apprx. 225 made, and that they are fairly rare in the states. Does anyone know if this is fact or where I might rediscover that posting, can't seem to trip over it now. |

I have some letters from the factory on Nakao's that give the numbers of around 225 pieces of which only a handful remained in the US. The N769 is the CL variety. Very nice and play really nicely too. |

I wasn't either until I got hold of a 1768 that looked identical to the Nakaos. that fret board had so much graining that it was sort of 3-dimensional; a dazzling piece of wood. Then I screwed up and sold it to pay for a project...then it got worked over buy United Parcel Smashers and returned....then it went to the factory for a re-build....I've been waiting months to see that board again...all good things in time I guess. But the wait......wait, wait, wait.....Patience Patch. It won't be too long now. |

Location: Greenville, Texas | Thanks everybody, I appreciate the help. I had no idea they had so few of these, I found it in LArry Morgan's shop on the east side of Dallas. They wanted it gone, the only "O" in the place, I guess it was bothering all the Fenders. Anyway, it's turned out to be an awesome guitar and strangely enough I carried it to Okinawa one trip with me so I guess it made it to Japan after all. Thanks again for the help, and if you can read Japanese check out the link dark bar attached! Thanks again everyone.
